As the primary overseas traveler-generating region to Shandong province, Korean has a critical effect on Shandong international tourism development. Through analyzing the history evolution and demand characteristics of Korean tourists traveling to Shandong, the paper purpose to provide some constructive solution for Shandong to develop Korean tourism market and enhance the degree of tourism internationalization.Due to the systems analysis and holism, we should first analyze the history anddemand characteristics of Korean travelers both to overseas and China. Thus, in chapterone the history of Korean traveling to overseas is divided into four phases for separateexplanation. And some predictions are also made in terms of the continual growth in thefuture. Next the demand characteristics of Korean overseas travelers are analyzed inchapter two. While this analysis is proceeded in some different aspects, such as thedestination and its changes of the Korean overseas travelers, the determining factors andinformation source of choosing a destination, the consumers behavior characteristics,tourists' spatial existence structure, the change of demand characteristics and behaviortrend. Because Japan is the main rival to china in Korean tourism market development,the comparison method is used to investigate the demand characteristics of the Koreantravelers to China. Moreover the reasons for the increasing volume of Korean traveling toChina, the restriction factors and development opportunities for the market are alsodiscussed in this part. At last, much analysis is given to chapter four, which deals with thehistory evolution and the demand characteristics of the Korean travelers to Shandong.This chapter makes use of diversified aspects of study including demographycharacteristics, consumption structure, behavior characteristics, space-time distributing.And a series of considerations are given to the present existing problems of Koreanoverseas traveling to Shandong. On the above analysis of Korean market, chapter fivefocuses on the competition environment for Shandong. Then the paper comes to someinitiative suggestions on the general development strategies, the market choosingmethods, the product development tactics as well as the marketing strategies.This paper makes up the deficiency of overseas traveler-generating market research in our country which more attention is paid to overall analysis. Many scholars attach importance to Japanese and American market while ignoring the Korean market. As to the research method there are many innovations in the paper. For example, using the spot check method combined with Microsoft Excel and Statistics Program of Social Science to research the demand characteristics of Korean traveling to Shandong. All of results are based on a number of data, as a result this paper is both theoretical and practical at the same time.
