Ecotourism is a rapidly expanding portion of the world's travel market and is considered as a new strategy for supporting the development of nature reserve. In China the ecotourism industry has also been developed in some natural reserves and it is working out quite well as a whole. But due to such narrow-minded views as regarding natural reserve as common tourist attractions and exploitation of natural reserve as construction of tourist areas, the links among tourism planning, construction and management are disjointed in the course of exploitation. This renders the needed protection work in the plan unable to be put into practice in full-scale exploitation and management, thus causing a series of bad results. So it is urgent to resolve the existing problems in exploiting natural reserve by means of protective exploitation of ecotourism. This paper includes eight parts. The first chapter summarizes the history and status quo of domestic and international ecotourism development in nature reserve. The second chapter summarizes and analyzes the development situation and existing problems of ecotourism in nature reserves in Minshan area. This part is a connecting link between the preceding and the following. From chapter 3 to chapter 8 is the paper's keystone. It introduces the general situation and the condition of ecotourism recourse, and the status quo of ecotourism in Tangjiahe nature reserve. After analyzing the author has demonstrated the feasibility and need of the development in this area. On the bases of present ecotourism status and problems occurred in Tangjiahe, the paper designed two models for Tangjiahe to consider: Conservative and Green. The purpose of the study is just try to provide a new thinking to improve the sustainable development of ecotourism in Tangjiahe.
