The paper empirically studies the condition of our country's employee career choice from the viewpoint of decision maker. The 505 samples coming from 5 districts of the whole nation show : domestic employee have had a certain independence in either the first vocation choice or the current vocation choice, but such independence which should be improved ulteriorly is still in the low level. In the first vocation decision, the younger have correspondingly higher independence, and the male have more independence than the female. In the current vocation decision, the samples of the state units have less independence than these of other units; the male have more independences than the female; the age has inverse ratio to the independence; the educational level has direct ratio to the independence. And among the investigated employee ,the whole condition of satisfied degree to the current vocation, matching degree between interests and vocations and matching degree between capacities and vocations is worrying and on above three aspects the samples with more independence during decision is higher than other samples.
