Strengthen Ideological And Moral Construction Of Thinking

At present time, in China the number of those under the age of eighteen is approximately 367 million, which is about 28% of China's total population. The youth is the constructor and successor of communism project, and they are who we must rely on to finish the historical task of modernization of China. During the periods since foundation of Republic of China, construction of the youth's ideology and morality has been always a focus of Party and Government. In the years, with efforts of Party and various estates of society, we have acquire great achievements in the construction of the youth's ideology and morality. Generally speaking, the youth of our country is in good ideological and moral situation, and "Loving the country, Studying positively, Solidarity and Fraternity, and Civilization and Civility" is the mainstream of the youth's spiritual world. However, we must realize that, under the new circumstances in the 21^st century, the construction of the youth's ideology and morality is in the face of many new problems and challenges. With the deep changes of internal and international circumstances, there appear a series of problems we must resolve. The are more or less some warps, even sometimes some serious flaws, in the youth's behavior, custom, morality, ideology, discipline, legal consciousness, collectivism consciousness, ideality and dedication spirit. This thesis discusses the primary elements of the youth's ideological and moral construction from five aspects, considering the question of how to enhance the work of ideological and moral construction. First, remodel the conception, change the current mode of family education and school education, which focuses on intellectual education with little attention on moral education, promote the youth to develop comprehensively in morality, intellectuality and physique. Second, improve the quality of parents, accelerate them to educate their children in a correct and scientific way, and promote the family to function positively in the process of education. Third, attach importance to the substantial results of moral education, and promote the school moral education to ameliorate and innovate. Forth, enhance the supervising on the cultural market in order to provide the youth lively and healthy spiritual product. Fifth, provide the youth correct education and instruction on Internet, and improve the administrative structure of Internet.
