After five thousands agriculture economy and two hundred industrial economy, our society is progressing to a new era-the knowledge economy. In the knowledge economy, firms have to envisage an essential change in terms of their internal and external environment: Internet transparentizes firm cost; It is extremely difficult for firms to source raw materials at a low cost because of the exhaustion of resource and the aggravation of environment; due to the un-standardization, segmentation and multiplicity of production, the power of the economy of scale decreases; consumer's conception and consumer behavior change dramatically; Internet significantly varies and shortens the product life cycle. So the traditional strategy does not fit for the demand of the contiguous development of firm. Firm must change strategic basic. The strategic basic must be customer.The goal of the strategy of value innovation is just the supply of excellent customer value. The new strategy brings forth new ideas of the product, service and value chain, in order to improve customer value. So the new strategy is the inevitable choice of the firm in the knowledge economy era. The firm in the direction of the new strategy may satisfy the customers. So it may help the firm gain continuous competitive advantage. As the source of continuous competitive advantage of the firm, the core competence must get in touch with the new strategy. The goal of the paper research the relation between the core competence and customer value innovation, in order to supply the reason that the firm cultivate, keep and develop the core competence.Chapter 1 expatiates on the background of the paper, and introduces the frame, the means and content of the research.Firstly, Chapter 2 introduce the content of value innovation .Secondly, Chapter 2 introduce all kinds of the type of customer value innovation. At last, comparing value innovation with traditional strategy in the knowledge economy era, we will know that customer value innovation is the certain choice of the firm.Chapter 3 discusses mainly the source of customer value ,and introduces the source and the content of the core competence ,in order to supply the theory background of thepaper research.Firstly, Chapter 4 discusses the analyzable model of customer value. Secondly, Chapter 4 discusses the relation between customer value and the core competence of the corporation.Firstly, Chapter 5 introduces the relation between customer value innovation strategy. Secondly, Chapter 5 poses value curve in order to supply the means of value innovation research. Thirdly, Chapter 5 researchs the relation between every stage of life period of the core competence and the type of customer value innovation. At last, Chapter 5 discusses the relation between the characters of the core competence of the corporation and the strategy of customer value innovation.Chapter 6 expounds and proves the research through the example of P&G .Chapter 7 summarizes the research achievement of the paper, and raises the questions that want be solved.Some innovation in the paper:(1) The paper presents a new type of value innovation.(2) The paper presents the new idea that the type of value innovation is discussed from the side of every stage of life period of the core competence.(3) The paper the new idea that the relation between customer value innovation and the core competence of the corporation is discussed from the side of thecharacters of the core competence of the corporation.
