It is more obvious and deserves our concern that Asian Awareness has come into being and developed rapidly in Chinese diplomacy. The author analyzes the meaning of Asian Awareness guided by the Theory of Social Construtionism and compares it with the European Idea. For China, Asian Awareness means the reorientation and pursuit for the national identity which has experienced a few changes since the foundation of PRC according to the domestic historical environment and abroad, which leads to the Asian Awareness eventually through the more and more intense relations and the multi-lateral institutions between China and other Asian countries, as well as the cooperation against important social issues. The emergence of Asian Awareness influences Chinese diplomacy profoundly: reforming its concept of national interests, changing evaluation about the Asian situations, and transforming the diplomatic view, stress and style. Thus China will take more international responsibilities as an Asian power and pursue the harmony of benefits of all participants, which could put it to the leading role in Asian cooperation and make other countries not afraid of Chinese power. It may bring the essential changes of the Asian political map in the future.
