Since the establishment of normal Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations 30 years ago, their bilateral relations have developed significantly, which have influenced and benefited both the two peoples as well as the Asian Pacific regions and the whole world. But, under the new circumstances of the 21st century, they face the challenge of how to deepen their bilateral relations; and the most important is how to better deal with the historical and realistic problems. Moreover, the current major subject of deepening Sino-Japanese relations is how to, with open-mindedness and from long-term historical perspectives, recognize the importance of their relations, deepen their mutually knowledge, and promote their mutual understandings and interdependence.This dissertation is intended to analyze the major factors and difficult points influencing Sino-Japanese relations through their mutual knowledge and by epistemology method. It also explores the current practical significance of Sino-Japanese relations development, and some enlightenments with which the Chinese populace, especially young people, regard the issue.This dissertation consists of four parts.Part One makes a brief historical review about China-and-Japan mutual knowledge of the two peoples in the modern age, and elaborates the main problems and some erroneous zone in the development of Sino-Japanese relations.Part Two is about the difficult points in the mutual knowledge of the twopeoples and various factors influencing their knowledge. Firstly, it analyzesthe difficulty in their mutual knowledge about each other, as well as the"exchange" of their positions in history.
