The Advanced Nature Of The Contemporary Chinese Economic Diplomacy

After World War II especially after the Cold War, economic diplomacy has gradually become a trend of diplomatic development. With the appearance of the term "economic diplomacy" in Report to the Work of the Government, its outstanding status has been definitely confirmed in China' s diplomatic domain. As the largest developing country in the world, China shows its socialist advancement in its economic diplomacy.The present study illustrates the status quo of the research on economic diplomacy, uncovers the nature of the economic diplomacy of contemporary Japan and the Western states, and probes into the theoretic foundation and particular missions of China' s economic diplomacy with a review of its particular developing course and a summary of its trend in the new era.The last chapter is the main part of this paper. It elaborates the advancement of China' s economic diplomacy in the past and foresees it in the future, which includes the interaction between economic diplomacy and the overall diplomacy, develops economic diplomacy in flexible forms, pays attention to the factors of persons, science and technology in economic diplomacy, brings geopolitics, regional culture, sub-national actors into full use in promoting our country' s economic diplomacy, and holds that a favorable domestic and international environment is essential and necessary for a successful economic diplomacy.
