Since separating, India and Pakistan have conflicted with each other because of their divergences in history, religions and territory. The domestic condition of Pakistan was turbulent, which provided India a great opportunity to launch an attack in order to make it weaker. As its important strategic position, South Asia became the next battlefield of America and Russia. The Third Indo-Pakistani war has been influenced by Super Powers. Connecting with the international situation at that time, this thesis made a thorough analysis to this conflict with analytic approach of the international relations theory.This thesis is divided into four parts: The first part revealed and analyzed the background of The Third Indo-Pakistani war. India has expected to be the leading nation of subcontinent for a long time, but the independence of Pakistan shrank the influent sphere of India as well as threatened the territory safety. The domestic contradiction between the two parts in Pakistan gave India a good chance. The First and Second Indo-Pakistani wars haven't deal with the problems but deteriorated the situation. In the second part, the author studied the background of the conflict that is the South Asia has become the next battlefield of contending world hegemony between America and Russia. Through the conflicts on the Subcontinent, we could found the influence of Super Powers. America drew Pakistan in its group, while Russia made contact with India. China has been keeping friendly relation with Pakistan and no keeping with India. While the two military allies have founded, the Third Indo-Pakistani war is couldn't avoidance. The third part revealed the process of the Third Indo-Pakistani war and the roles the Super Powers played during it. When it got the Russian supporting, India started preparing for the coming war.
