The Taiwan Issue, In China's Road Of Peaceful Development

The Road of China's Peaceful Development (RCPD), which is not only China's manifesto of international strategy and diplomacy but also the strategic theory dominating China's development in the long run, is a strategic way with all-round significance. When it comes to exploring China's peaceful development, Taiwan Issue, the problem of Taiwan's coming back to the mainland of China, is an inevitable point, because the purpose of China's peaceful development is its rise based on China's unity and a nation without unity doesn't mean rise at all. Then what's the relationship between China's peaceful development and Taiwan Issue? Is Taiwan Issue the maximal cumber to realize China's peaceful development? Must peaceful development mean peaceful unity? Does it mean failure in peaceful development if there is no peaceful unity? The article primarily analyzes the above problems and presents some approaches to how to deal with Taiwan Issue during China's peaceful development process.The article contains five parts: preface, three chapters of main body and conclusion.The first chapter shows us that China's unity is a necessary part of China's peaceful rise based on its peaceful development road. The importance of Taiwan Issue in China's peaceful development process is presented in the part after giving a clear definition of RCPD and explaining the contents of Taiwan Issue influenced by inside and outside factors in different periods. And pointing out Taiwan Issue is the centric problem of China's national benefit. In a word, Taiwan Issue has become the key problem of China's peaceful development and rise.The second chapter presents that the basic ways of how to deal with Taiwan Issue are determined by the policy of RCPD. It analyzes that RCPD is conducive to settle Taiwan Issue from the three different angles: the change of time theme, domestic social situation and the practice of "peaceful unity and one country, two systems".The third chapter accounts for China's choice of countermeasure to deal with Taiwan Issue during its peaceful development process. The policy suggestions are given from the standpoints of economy, culture, law, military affairs and diplomacy respectively in this part, based on China's current practice of peaceful development.The last part concludes that the relationship between China's peaceful development and settling Taiwan Issue is dialectic and united. Based on the former, the latter is the key of the former; both of them should be considered basing on China's present situation and in the long term. We should realize China's unity during its process of peaceful development and rise and promote China's peaceful development through its unity as an important force.
