Since the foundation of People's Republic of China, we experienced several kinds of international identity of China itself. There's no updated international identity until the end of the 1990s when Chinese government declared to be a "responsible power". This is very important for the development of Chinese diplomacy in the new era. Meanwhile, it also demonstrates the Chinese government's resolution to maintain the peace and promote common prosperity of the whole world. The participation in U.N. peace-keeping operation is the wise way to realize thepromise of China to be a "responsible power".With the economic development, the overall strength of our country is getting stronger and stronger, the Chinese scope and. ability enlisting affairs of U.N. peace-keeping operation has extended to a great extent both politically and economically, which shows China has played a more and more important role and influence in international affairs as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.This thesis starts with the review of the different international identity in different times at the first 40 years after the foundation of China. Then the thesis introduces the process of raising the theory of "responsible power", including its particular meaning. And then, combined with the process of China's participation in U.N. peace-keeping operation, the thesis analyses the relation between the participation in U.N. peace-keeping operation and the building of a "responsible power". In the end, based on the above analysis, the thesis draws the conclusion and gives some suggestions on China's participation in U.N. peace-keeping operation...
