The concept of alienation is the key point that philosophers of the capitalist class criticize Marxism. Some philosophers of the capitalist class have not correctly understood the position of the concept of alienation in philosophy of Marxism for quite a tong time. they either sum up the theory of Marxism into the theory of alienation, saying that Marxism is a "non-alienation" theory whose highest goal is to realize people's nature, or sum up the theory of alienation of Marxism into the extending of Hegel's speculative view of alienation and Feuerbach's humanist view of alienation, saying that Marx has never overcome the influence of Hegel and Feuerbach, the true sense of Marxism can only be found in their works, and Marx do not have his own concept of alienation. The concept of alienation plays a very important historical role in the forming process of philosophy of Marxism. In Marx's earlier period, the concept has been influenced by Hegel and Feuerbach, having strong tedency of humanism and characteristic of speculate. But Marx can conscientiously remould his philosophical thoughts, continuously remould and enrich the contents of the theory of alienation so that philosophy of Marxism has formed. Marx's concept of alienation is a historical category and a gradually forming, developing and perfecting process. The actual contents it entails have been developing and deepening with the change of Marx's worldview and the deepening of theoretical research so that there is a changing process in Marx's using of the concept of alienation in his versions: to useā†'to reduce the usage or even to criticizeā†'to reuse. It neither means that Marx has given up the concept of alienation at certain stage during the process of the forming of his philosophical thoughts, nor does it mean that he has returned to the speculative concept of alienation during his later period. In fact, Marx has always been keeping and developing all the contents related to the concept in his works. This paper contains four parts. Chapter 1 analyzes the historical evolvement of the concept of alienation before Marx. Chapter 2 specifically explains the change of the concept of alienation in Philosophy of Marxism. Chapter 3 discusses the reason and essence of the change of Marx's concept of alienation. Chapter 4 discusses the modern meaning of Marx's concept of alienation by linking with practice. By studying the change of Marx's attitude toward the concept of alienation during the process of the development of Marxism, the paper is to probe into its deeper reason and the essence of the change, reveal the essence of the attack to Marxism from philosophers of the capitalist class using the concept of alienation, and evaluate the present sense of the concept of alienation so that we can have a more reasonable understanding of Marxism.
