Nanjing Villages Villagers Public Research

With thespeeding up of the urbanization, the formerly villages around the city have gradually become "city village". It is that how "city village" transforms into the true city community becomes the question which the academic circles widely discussed .The villagers who live in "city village" are special social groups. On the one hand, the villagers who lose their land which they live on have had the transformation in the status and the occupation. They are the traditional farmers no longer. On the other hand, they are still keeping the traditional farmers' character in the thought way and the behavior custom. They still have big disparity with the citizens. Under the city civilization baptism, it is the inevitable tendency that the transformation of the villagers in "city village" to the citizens. But the villagers live in the special community environment----city village in which there are economic benefits, various social relationship network and cultural conflict. This creates their civilization process to be inevitably out of the ordinary.We have carried on the empirical research in several representative "villages in city" in Nanjing, analyzed the villagers in "city village" from some aspects, such as income, lifestyle-and social psychology. We discovered that the villagers in "city village" had adapted to the registration system and occupation changes, and also their main income way had realized the non-agriculture. But they still have the quite great distance to the truly urban cftizen in the life styleand the psychological adaptation. How to seek the effective way of the villagers' civilization in "city village" and enable them to rapidly adapt to the new urban life? Based on the sociological theories, the author discussed the civilization from the economic, the social and the psychological aspects, analyzed the barrier which the villagers met in integrating into the urban society, pointed out the difficulty of the civilization, tried to put forward some suggestions and provided the government the theory basis and the implementation pattern.
