In the present era, one indispensable and realistic context, which we have to face, is the trend of globalization. Through this process, all the nations in the world have no other way to choose but participating actively and fitting in initiatively. A country can not make itself develop if it deviates the process of globalization ,and a country has the danger of being margined and knocked out if it does not cope and participate in globalization actively. The globalization, however, is a contradictive process with development and demolishment, conflict and fusion, and contact and dispute. Therefore, in such an area, based on its own cognition structure of subject and value judgment, how China should do in order to think objectively and rationally. This is the question exploring in this dissertation.Part one illuminates the relationship of globalization and social development. At first, the author sorts out the definition of globalization and reckons that the theory of globalization is a group of theories forming by various similar and dissimilar theories rather than a unified theory. What is more, the author mentions the nature of globalization and considers that globalization has two properties, natural property and social property. We should understand globalization dynamically instead of recognizing it as an end or a system. At last, the author delivers the relationship between globalization and development. It indicates that globalization have two kinds of influence on development, that is, positive and negative. As for how a country develops, it depends on its own cognitive structure and judge of values.Part two expounds that social development of human beings, under globalization, presents the unique characteristics, other than the former characteristics before it, mainly the imbalance, system and risk. The author deems that, in an area of globalization, the world is a whole and a system. The structure imbalance of world leads to the development imbalance of nations which results in various risks.Part three concerns about how we should do the transformation of development strategy with regard to integrate history with real, theory with practice. As a post-developed country, China inevitably encounters the contradictions of sequence and transcendence, deconstruction and construction, localization and globalization, freedom and equality when it makes the choice to merge into globalization voluntarily. There are three aspects in order to resolve these contradictions: transformation of development strategy from "introductive type" to "endogenous type", transformation of development strategy from "material-based" to "human-based" and transformation of development strategy from "unilateral type" to "full type".
