The Traditional Chinese Political Culture And Political Participation

As the important political phenomenon of modern political life, political culture and political participation are important aspects of democratic politics. Political culture is the psychological foundation of political participation of citizens. It profoundly affects people's political action by invisible force in political life. At the same time, political participation construction continuing to develop also create good atmosphere of political culture.As an important component of chinese current political culture, chinese traditional political culture is an cultural foundation of chinese democratic politics that can't be ignored. Chinese traditional political culture has a great impact on the practice of citizen's political participation. Chinese traditional political culture has the characteristic of autocracy and ethic etc that show the dual natures in political participation. Today chinese traditional political culture has been to the past, but it exists for thousands of years. The lack of democracy that gestured by history also restricted the political participation of today's citizens to some extent.At present our country is going on the construction of socialist democracy. It makes democratic construction a long way that the negative factors of chinese traditional political culture and the present situation of political participation of citizens in our country. If we want to improve the socialist democracy and to expand political participation of citizens, we must fully recognize the influence that chinese traditional political culture makes to political participation of citizens, analysis the advantages and disadvantages of traditional political culture, and know the reason of history and culture that cause deficiency of political participation of citizens. Thus, we can effectively cultivate modern civic culture which democratic political construction in our country has required.This article discusses chinese traditional political culture and political participation of citizens from four aspects. First defining relevant concepts of chinese traditional political culture and political participation of citizens, then analyzing the positive effects and negative effects that chinese traditional political culture makes to political participation of citizens at the basis of summarizing historical characteristics of chinese traditional political culture. Finally putting forward strategies with regard to these questions by analyzing some cases.
