Study Of Local Government Performance Assessment Methods

Evaluation of performance efficiency plays a major role in improving the administrative efficiency of China's local governments. However, the existing assessment methods are obviously deficient. They can be embodied just as follows: single assessing mainbody, one-way assessing methods, and close assessing process, which put impact on the scientification and standardization of China's local governmental performance evaluation. In this paper, the current assessment methods are analyzed, and the government performance assessment countermeasures of major Western countries are introduced. This paper stated that to perfect local government performance assessment methods should be carried through systematically building a multilateral mainbody-assessing structure, promoting the systematic construction of citizens-assessing government and strengthening mulriple assessing mechanisms of performance evaluation.
