Republic Of Village Autonomy In The Context Of Local Self-government Study

The practice of countryside autonomy in China's Republican period is a political movement which ia based on the ideology of countrtside autonomy. Taking the autonomous practice of Zhaicheng village and that of Shanxi Province as well as of China's Republican government as samples of research, the paper is geared to show the whole process of the occurence, development, failure and inspiration of the practice of countryside autonomy in China's Republican period. The essencial reason for the failure of the practice of countryside autonomy in China's Republican period is that on the purpose of realizing modernization in the rural aera, it applies the means which are conventional and non-systematic.
