On Public Crisis Management Mechanism, Perfect Our Government

At present China is in social transition period. There are so many disasters such as earthquakes, floods, droughts, mass violence, work accidents happened every day. With the destruction of the environment and the worsening of social contradictions, crisis will happen more frequently. Solving these critical incidents already became a government capacity standard. If the government cannot solve all sorts of critical incidents, the community will be faced with the situation of the normal order destruction, which has a direct infection on people's lives and property safety, rapid and stable development of national economy and Government's position and image. Public crisis management now becomes a basic function of government. China's public crisis management has made some encouraging achievements after the SARS incidence. Our government did a good job in the Wenchuan earthquake relief and recovery, not only won the people's praise; it has also been endorsed by many other countries. However, we should objectively to recognize that our public crisis management research and practice are just start, we need time and efforts to construct a sound public crisis management system.At the beginning of this Article have a broad analysis of theories on public crisis and public crisis management. And then describe and analysis the status of China's public crisis management through the Wenchuan earthquake and the 2008 snowstorm. Followed summarize the merits of public crisis management system of the United States, Russia and Japan. At the end of the article give some suggestions to improving our public crisis management system.
