Macau Crisis Management Mechanisms And Countermeasures Study

With the increasingly rapid economic development of the Macao SAR, and herinternationalization city image establishment, the whole society of Macao will be becamemore complexity. There will also hidden many crisis when the urban development, fromSARS to avian flu, swine flu, the Macao society in Japan led to nuclear radiation causedpanic, local travel clashes, Storm "Haig than" invasion disasters in Macao, the InternationalCenter of restaurants explosion events, the CTM network failure event, Areia Preta JianhuaBuilding toxic gas leak, XingFong Garden building structure crisis events. A variety ofcrisis a threat to the development of the city of Macao, Also threaten the lives and propertyof the people of Macao as well as sightseeing tourists to come to Macau.This thesis will study and analysis of Macau’s current five different levels ofemergency and crisis management mechanisms, and will make some comparison in thecrisis management mechanisms with the city of New York, Tokyo. According to thecomparison, I found that Macau crisis management mechanism is based on a single disasterprevention. Macau crisis management mechanism is based on a single disaster prevention,departments-type crisis management system. Response to the development of the economicand social structure of the Macao SAR, the shortcomings of departments-type crisismanagement system will affect the Macao SAR in crisis management the image. MacaoSAR Government, therefore, should be based on the law to establish the perfectorganizational bodies and clear functions, establish comprehensive disaster prevention anddedicated management department and emergency response system; establish rigorous butefficient of government information systems and a wide range of sectors; build ahead ofdisaster research and emergency warning system; adequate emergency preparedness andreliable IT network support to residents; establish a common disaster awareness trainingand emergency drill training to the city people, companies, associations.
