Modernization is the process that human society transfers from traditional agricultural society to modern industrial society and changes on the psychological attitude, values, living quality on the process. This transformation is not a matter of time, but rather fundamental transformation of societal structure, namely, the modernity that we say today. Modernity is philosophical and sociological reflections on the political and economic structure, ideology, ethics occurred in the modernization process, and the characteristics existed on modern society.What is the evolution of china's modernization? What is China's modernity under the historical circumstances which differs from western modernity? Whether this kind of modernity bear a striking resemblance to western modernity or not?This paper aims to build a reference on the basis of the introduction to western modernization and modernity theories. Based on the evolving process of china's modernization and china's concrete historical circumstances, analyze the reasons of different ideas of modernization in different period in character. On the basis of comparison and analysis, reflect actively on the present modernization phase, to fully foster our understanding on China's modernity, which will give us meaningful guidance to our modernization.
