At the beginning of the 21 century, the rise of emerging powers, such as China, Russia, India, Brazil, begin to bring impact on the existing distribution of power. And the security relations of the emerging powers and the hegemonic powers, such as, U.S, Europe, Japan, are becoming more and more concerned. In the history, there are complicated security interactions between the emerging powers and the hegemonic powers. Some of the emerging powers become the challenger of the hegemonic powers, and the others become the cooperator, and there are always wars in the process. This thesis makes a study base on the security interactions between the emerging powers and the hegemonic powers, and has a study on the incident of the impeccable to analyze the current Sino-U.S security relation.The main body of the thesis is divided into six parts, the main contents are as follows:Introduction. It includes the background and significance of the topic, research status at home and abroad, basic research idea and methods, main research contents and innovation.ChapterⅠ, The Concept and Theory of the Security Interaction. First of all, the chapter has a study on the effect of the rationality on the international actors and international relation theory, as we know, rational choice domain the behavior of the country. Secondly, this chapter analyzes the concept, theory and tapes of the security interactions between the emerging powers and the hegemonic powers, and makes out that rational choice is the basic rule of the security interactions between the emerging powers and the hegemonic powers.ChapterⅡ, The Historical Changes of the Sino-U.S Security Relation after the Cold War. First of all, the chapter has a simple study on the features of the Sino-U.S security relation after the cold war. And the security strategy of the U.S is swinging between the containment strategy and the engagement strategy, as a result, China takes defensive strategy. Secondly, the chapter has a study on the military incidents between China and U.S, such as, the incident of Yinhehao in 1993, the crisis of Taiwan straits in 1996-1997, the incident of the NATO bombing in 1999 and the incident of military plane collision in 2003.ChapterⅢ, The Incident of the Impeccable: From Security Interaction to Crisis Control. The incident of the impeccable in 2009 is the most severe military incident between China and U.S since the incident of military plane collision in 2003, and has a great effect on the development of the Sino-U.S security relation. First of all, the chapter has a study on the process of the incident of the impeccable. Secondly, the chapter research on the construction of the Sino-U.S security interaction, and makes out that the Sino-U.S security relation is walking into a crisis control period. After all, the chapter has a study on the influencing factors of the Sino-U.S security interaction.ChapterⅣ, The Developing Prospect of the Sino-U.S Security Relation. The chapter considers that common interests are the basic factor of the development of the Sino-U.S Security Relation, and the balance of power is the key factor of the development of the Sino-U.S Security Relation. Today, the security cooperation of the Sino-U.S needs to end off demand type cooperation, and walk to common sense cooperation.Conclusion. On the basis of analyses in the previous chapters, I summarize the main conclusions from the thesis.
