In order to improve students' Chinese literacy, emphasis should be put on how to foster their capability of writing. In the process of our daily Chinese teaching, more attention to the fostering students' ability to write fulfills the requirements of cultivating students' practicing ability under the new curriculum as well as satisfies the nature of Chinese teaching---a combination of humanity and implement.However, in the long period of teaching practice, writing teaching is always in a state of low efficiency and disorder. Without systematic and effective writing teaching material, teachers' instructing at discretion, there exist many obstacles for students to write. What's worse, teachers often train students' writing just for tests, misunderstand the designing and the assessing thought of the entrance examination and even train students to imitate mechanically in accordance with the test. In a word, writing teaching has encountered with many obstacles and setbacks.The New Criteria for Chinese Curriculum for primary and secondary schools in Shanghai (New Criteria for Chinese Curriculum, for short) makes it clear in the aims of curriculum that the students should form the habit of observing, experiencing and thinking about the life. They are able to write down what they see, hear, think over and even sense. Besides, they are capable of expressing their thoughts correctly by using canonical expressions. Lastly, they have the ability to apply various methods to express themselves according to the daily demands.In accordance with it, this article intends to be in search of the possibility of forming a good interactive system of combining writing teaching and test writing by doing research work of the designing and the assessing thought of the entrance examination and even analyzing the present states of writing teaching.Starting from the analyzing and thinking about the designing and the assessing thought of the entrance examination, the writer intends to sum up the role that the function-oriented test writing plays by assessing and analyzing the designing thought and the standards of test writing in the resent ten years.This article aims at finding out the roots of the problems and solutions to them accordingly by analyzing and summing up the writing teaching requirements of the New Criteria for Chinese Curriculum and reflecting on the present problems of writing teaching in senior high schools while teachers instruct students and even the teaching materials.Based on the mirroring and analyzing the foreign trends in writing teaching as well as the designing and assessing thoughts, the writer means to deeply think over and explore the correct approaches in writing teaching in this essay.The result of this research is expected to sum up the functions of the test writing to the writing teaching, provide a modern and feasible thought line for senior high school writing teaching and thus makes the writing teaching high efficient and in good order, improving students' capability of writing. Eventually the students will end up with high Chinese literacy.
