Academic Misconduct Analysis

In the recent years, with the high-developed market economy and high-improved people's living standards, the human's value orientation has been changed greatly and to pursue the benefits is the goal of all. The utilitarian phenomena in education has developed and speeded in colleges. To the interests of the various, many scholars have been surrounded by temptations, for example, the vice of academic misconducts and corruption is increasing in colleges. However, unhealthy tendencies haven"t been kept down, but have exacerbated instead, which recently the rate is increased obviously, especially in the most famous university and general colleges. Therefore, to order prompt and effective provisional measures must be enforced.The thesis is based on the importance of preventing academic misconducts, which defines the conceptions of the academic misconducts, after that, it concretely analyzes typical cases of academic misconducts and corruption, from which we can make comprehensive description about the forms and damages of academic misconducts. The thesis can be divided into the following parts:Part one is the introduction which reviews the context of researching academic misconducts and domestic and overseas present situation.Part two is the definition of the conceptions of the academic misconducts. Firstly, it analyzes the concepts of the academic misconducts and introduces completely the definition of academic corruption, which have the similarity. At the same time, it expatiates the conception, relations and present situation between academic authority and administrative authority, which has the close relation with academic misconducts and corruption.Part three is representing the concrete forms of academic misconducts and the damage incurred by academic misconducts.Part four analyzes the cause of academic misconducts from a number of angles, including the deficiency of the related laws and regulations, the deficiencies of academic authority, the impact of external environment and so on. This paper focuses on the analysis of the flaws on academic evaluation system from the quantitative evaluation mechanism and peer-reviewed evaluation.The last part illustrates the related countermeasure of solving the academic misconducts in two folds. Firstly, study on the overseas correlated mechanism, including evaluation mechanism, management mechanism and supervisory mechanism. Secondly, study on the related countermeasure of solving academic misconducts based on successful experience of overseas and the current situation, including perfecting the related laws and regulations, improving moral quality of scholars and so on. In all, solving the academic misconducts is not the work of a single day. Everybody should collaborate in preventing the problems.
