As a cognitive disposition with positive emotion, interest promote individual to know things, to explore the truth. It is one of the most active factors of the motive, not only impel people to open up their horizons and enrich mental activity, but also to promote creative learning and activities. Therefore, interest of students, especially learning interest, is becoming a topic that people engaged in education greatly concerned about.To meet the needs of social development, English education has been great attention in our country. Most elementary schools in cities start English curriculum from third grade even first grade. But the condition of primary scholars'interest in English learning is not optimistic, interest seriously decline. The majority of previous researches are experience summary of classroom teachers and descriptive research, lacked in empirical.Hidi el al proposed the four-phase model of interest development. They considered the improved personal interest is gradually evolved from the triggered situational interest. And Deci et al proposed multi-dimensional structure model of situational interest, which provides theoretical basis for the research and measurement of situational interest. However, in the existing domestic study, the measurement researches of situational interest more focused on reading situation, the measurement of the classroom situational interest is deficient, although it is very important for the development of personal interest in learning. How to measure situational interest in classroom? And could the maintenance of situational interest in English class contribute to the formation of personal interest or be helpful for improvement of personal interest in English learning as Hidi etc presented in the four-phase model of interest development? These issues deserve our consideration and study. To solve the above problems, this article studies the measurement and the structure of situational interest in primary school English class, and the impact of English learning interest from classroom situational interest, which is based on the summary and analysis of previous researches. This article includes three studies:Study I:According to Deci's the multi-dimensional structure theory of situational interest, draw up and revise the situational interest in primary school English class questionnaire. This study used questionnaire method, after predicted scale and formal scale testing, use item analysis, the quest factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to select items, finally shaped the formal scale. Study II:Take two parallel classes in fifth grade in the same school as the research object, Using experimental and questionnaire methods, analysis the different situational interest teaching methods impact on the individual experience of situational interest in English class. Study III:Take two parallel classes in fifth grade as the research object. One of the classes was the experimental group (take in intervention); the other class was the control group (no special treatment). Using intervention study method, longitudinal study method and "pre-test-mid-test-post-test" approach, researched the effects of the maintenance of situational interest in the primary school English class to the student personal interest in English learning. Based on the findings, the following conclusions:(1) There are five dimensions in the situational interest in primary school English class questionnaire, include:intention to explore, time perception, pleasure, attraction and challenge. Classroom situation interest that is measurable in multi-dimensional structure. The structure of this situational interest questionnaire is consistent with the multi-dimensional structure model of situational interest proposed by Deci etc, which validate the multi-dimensional structure model is applicable to measurement of situational interest in English class.(2) The self-designed scale:"the situational interest in primary school English class questionnaire"is of high reliability and fair validity, meets the psychological surveying requirement, can be used as a measuring tool of situational interest in primary English class.(3) The situational interest in primary school English class can be gradually transformed into personal interest in English learning, maintain Situational interest in English class that can improve the level of the students additional study first, then gradually improve their application of knowledge, and the level of whole personal interest in English learning, finally formed the improved personal interest in English learning...
