Teaching material is the important elements of teaching procedures. Many experts did some research on American, British, Japanese teaching materials and teaching methods in order to get more experience. Canada, as one of progressive education country, always underlines that students are the centre of education, and education must meet the needs of students, promote the healthy development of them. So we should pay attention to Canadian teaching material's writing ideas and designing concepts.By researching, author found that many people do research on the education of Canada, but almost no study on Language in primary school. Canada is one of typical immigrant countries. Except Quebec, which native language is French, the other provinces use English as native language. Because of that, English is the native language in Ontario. Doing research on Canadian primary language course can give many revelations to our country's teaching material of native language.Corner Stones——Canadian Language Art is one of primary language teaching materials in Canada. It contains grade1-6 curriculum in primary school and it totally has 14 books. Canadian Language Art concentrates on the development of reading, writing, oral and visual communication. By analyzing unit content, text structure and responding in Canadian Language Art, we can find how to train and guide students'capability. And we can get many revelations to our country's teaching material of native language.The structures of the thesis are as follows:Part1: Introduction. Introduction the cause, background, content, methodology and limitation of this article.Part2: Background. Analyzing The Ontario Curriculum Grades 1-8 Language in 1997, and the general information about the teaching material.Part3: Structure of teaching material. Introduce from the structure of selections, units and texts.Part4: languageskills. Analyzing reading, writing, oral and visual communication, and activities in the teaching material.Part5: revelation. Based on the foregoing statement, we can find some questions and something worth to reflect in the teaching material, and provide the consultation for Chinese education.
