Due to the diversified social needs and the personalized development of higher education, the competition among universities is getting much more intense. As a general undergraduate university, Changsha University is established on the basis of Changsha University (junior college), which was approved by the State Ministry of Education in 2004. Applying the concentrate differentiation strategy is Changsha University's significant strategy of developing their school-running characteristics and forming the core competitiveness. To make the students training program be consistent with the human resource market, the universities should have deep insight into the human resource market segmentation and a comprehensive knowledge of the actual conditions of students. Only in this way can the university react quickly and accurately, and then consolidate the group advantages and obtain local breakthroughs. This also puts forward a very high request to the students work of Changsha University. High-efficiency students work promotes the smooth implementation of various school works and the school's quick development.Knowledge management is the extension of the information management and the new management idea in the progress of human-civilization, which stands for the advent of knowledge economic age. It is imbedded in knowledge economy and enhances the development of knowledge economy as well. Knowledge management lays stress on the importance of "human-centered", which implements the knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing and innovation through the utilization of the latest information technology. The reason for introducing the knowledge management into the students work of Changsha University is that knowledge management and students work possess the consistency of the "human-centered" fundamental principle. Constructing a knowledge management system on students work and using its ways and means can effectively stimulate the potential of the student management workers, strengthen the ability of knowledge gaining, using and sharing. The management ability of student management workers will be optimized in the end, then the student management work will fit into the change of the school policy.With the purpose to construct a practical knowledge management system in Changsha University, two advanced technique methods are introduced, they are data mining and case-based reasoning. Data mining helps the workers to find out and sum up the rules according to the tremendous amounts of data. Case-based reasoning is helpful to turn the experiences in workers'minds into the solution to a certain problem in written form, which would ensure student management workers be capable of quick and accurate response in the shortest time.
