1.Research purposesExtract of Epimedium can effectively improve rats' exercise capacity and free radical metabolis. But different doses of the drug may have different effects on rats' various indexes. In order to find out the relationship between the exercise capacity index of "efficiency" and drug doses, improve the efficiency of drugs using, At the same time, it also have some practical significance for the athletes' safe medication-taken.2.Methods156 male wistar rats were randomly divided into a quiet group (A group), quantitative exercise group (D group), exhaustive exercise group (H group). Each group was divided into six sub-groups for the control group, dose group 1, dose 2 group, dose 3 group, dose 4 group, the dose group 5.Three days after feeding adaptation, in accordance with the requirements, each group was fed medication orally. One week later, the quiet group, the quantitative exercise group and the exhaustive exercise group were taken eyeball blood in right moment, then made the eyeball blood into supernatant. The superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), testosterone (T),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),Lactic Aci(LD),Serum Glutsmate-oxaloacetate Transaminase(GOT),and Serum Glutsmate-pyruvate Transaminase(GPT)which were included in the supernatant were measured. During the experiment, the rats' weight and the exhaustion time of group H were recorded.3.Results3.1 Different doses of aqueous extract of Epimedium have no adverse effects on appetite, each group of rats grew and developed well, and in good spirits state.3.2 Different doses of aqueous extract of Epimedium have larger influence on the time of exhaustive swimming. The exhaustive swimming time of group H1,group H2 and group H3 was longer than the control group. In addition, group H3's exhaustive swimming time was significantly longer than the control group (p<0.01).3.3 In the quiet state, compare with the control group, the serum SOD's activity was significant improved (p<0.05) in the drug taken group. After weight load quantitative swimming, compared with the control group, the serum SOD's activity in dose 1 group and dose 2 group was significant improved(p<0.05). After weight-bearing exhaustive swimming, compared with the control group, the serum SOD's activity in dose 2 group, dose 3 group, dose 4,dose 5 group was significant improved(p<0.05).3.4 In the quiet state, compare with the control group, the content of serum MDA was significant reduced (p<0.05) in every drug taken group. After weight load quantitative swimming, the content of serum MDA was significant reduced (p<0.01) in every drug taken group. After weight-bearing exhaustive swimming, compared with the control group, the content of serum MDA in dose 3 group, dose 4 group, dose 5 group was significant reduced (p<0.05).3.5 In the quiet state, after weight load quantitative swimming and after weight-bearing exhaustive swimming, the content of serum BUN in every drug taken group was was significant reduced (p<0.01).3.6 In the quiet state and after weight load quantitative swimming, compared with the control group, the content of serum T in every drug taken group was significant increased (p<0.01).3.7 In the quiet state, after weight load quantitative swimming and after weight-bearing exhaustive swimming, the content of serum LD in every drug taken group was was significant reduced (p<0.01).3.8 In the quiet state and after weight load quantitative swimming, compared with the control group, the content of serum GOT in every drug taken group was significant increased (p<0.01).3.9 In the quiet state and after weight load quantitative swimming, compared with the control group, the content of serum GPT in every drug taken group was significant increased (p<0.01).4.Conclusions4.1 Different doses of extract of Epimedium have no significant influence on the rats' weight, it indicated that extract of Epimedium had no adverse effects on rat's growth.4.2 After taking the aqueous extract of Epimedium, the rats'exhaustive swimming time was extended significantly by different degrees, indicating that the extract of epimedium has positive effect in improving rats' exercise performance and/or delaying the occurrence of exercise-induced fatigue.4.3 Compared with the control group, each index of drug taken group in different states are significantly different. It showed that exhaustion time was significantly increased, the serum SOD's activity was significantly improved, the content of serum MDA was significantly reduced, the content of serum BUN was significantly reduced, the content of T was significantly increased.4.4 In a certain range of dosage, there is a relationship between the degree of the rats' physiological function being improved and the dosage taken, with the dosage increases, rats' exercise capacity increases gradually increase, and the larger the dosage being taken, the obvious the relationship is. But with the continued increase in doses, aqueous extract of Epimedium shows a protecting and inhibitting effect on rats'physiological function. The results shows that when the dosage range is between 5g/kg·w·d and 15g/kg·w·d,the rat's physiological function was best improved. Therefore, the dosage of 10g/kg·w·d is the preferred choice(mainly on the basis of the time of exhaustive swimming).
