Growth become the parents who are single-child. With the time goes on. The parents who are single-child will grow enlarge. This groups’ parenting ideas, parenting style gradually become the focus of research. Parenting Style is one of the important factors that affect child health growth. It related to the quality of the population in the future, and even the country’s development. Therefore, the research of parents who are single-child become more and more the concern of the community. And become a problem which is worthy to study. Systematic study of the parent who are single-child’s parenting styles, will help to improve the parent who are single-child’s parenting styles, optimizing the environment of family, ensure that children’s health and happiness. This also explains the important research and practical significance of the research about the parents who are single-child’s parenting styles.In this study, the parents who are single-child are the main object of study. Through the research, in order to understand the parents who are single-child’ parenting style. Compare with the parents who are not single-child. On the other hand, parenting style affected by parents’ gender, sex of the child, occupation, education level, monthly income and other factors. Whether the parents who are single-child is also influenced by these factors need further validation and concerns. This study based on the previous studies, concluded through empirical research, further analysis of the causes of the problems. and made recommendations to solve the problem. To guide parents to form a scientific parenting style.This study selected187parents of2-6year-old children in Tianjin as the sample. Through statistical analysis, understand the parents who are single-child parenting style characteristics and the impact of the parenting styles. Compare with the197parents who are not single-child. Analyze the reasons for conclusions. Come up with effective measures to improve the way of the parents who are single-child parenting style. Studies have shown that:1. The parents who are single-child tend to democratic parenting style. There is no significant difference with the parents who are not single-child. 2. Gender roles of the parents is an influencing factor. Mother who are single-child show more democratic than father who are single-child, and mainly for girls; Father who are single-child show more laissez-faire than the mother who are single-child., and mainly for boys. Especially in the laissez-faire, the role of the father is not enough to participate in parenting.3. The sex of child is a factor affecting parenting style. Boys suffer more authoritarian parenting than girls.4. The parents’ education level and income level are the factors affecting parenting styles, the low level of education and low-income parents’ parenting styles are urgent need to improve.
