This study analyses the characteristic of the5to6years old children’s drawing representation by testing, interviewing,products analysing, and draws the following conclusion:In terms of the representation content of drawing:the content of drawing of5to6years old children is closely related to the drawing theme, Children have a clear purpose to characterize the theme of drawing, and they can successfully characterze the theme of drawing.5to6years old children characterize the visual concepts through drawing core details, and the form of core details representation is rich and varied and closely related with children’s experience.In terms of the representation form of drawing:5to6years old children use lines to shape the drawing image, lines and shapes merging, they can skillfully sketch shapes and draw image with lines, and part of the image drawed by children in which lines and shapes are organicly integrated; The structure of the image that5to6years old children drawed is basically correct and the feature of the image is significant. The Image that5-6years old children drawed is basically two-dimensional, however three-dimensional space begin to apper in the drawing of5to6years old children, children can use overlapping drawing, transparent drawing and mixed viewpoint drawing creatively to characterize the three-dimensional space;5-6years old children’s drawing possess originality.At last, according to the research conclusion, researcher put forward some proposal to promote the development of5to6years old children’s drawing representation:Enrich children’s visual experience as well as other types of experience; Create a relaxed mental environment to support and encourage children boldly characterize their own ideas and understanding; Understand each child’s drawing representation characteristic, and according to their aptitude to teach them; Use a variety of ways of drawing to promote the development of5to6years old children’s drawing representation and thinking.
