With the rapid development of information technology, multimedia technology has rapidly gained popularity in the field of education, and changed the traditional teaching outlook. Single as for middle school Chinese teaching, teaching practice of more than ten years shows that multimedia technology has become a powerful tool for the majority of Chinese teachers, it helps to stimulate students’interest and enthusiasm in learning situation, greatly improve the teaching effect and teaching efficiency. But it also brings negative effect greatly, attracted criticism from many experts, scholars and Chinese educational workers.The first chapter of this paper defines the multimedia related concept, and simply introduces the commonly used Chinese multimedia teaching software and teaching mode, and has made the brief description in the theoretical basis of the multimedia teaching theory--psychology, education and information theory, system theory, control theory. And then briefly introduces the multimedia teaching has become the normalcy in most teaching reality from two aspects,one is that the govern-ment has trained the teachers widely and the other is that the government has contributed a lot to develop the multimedia hardware facilities.In this paper, the second chapter attempts to read from the visual culture era (visual culture of print culture overwhelmingly) as the background of the multimedia teaching the macro level to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of multimedia technology in Chinese teaching. The third chapter analyzes the ten big misunderstanding zones in three aspects including multimedia teaching opinions,courseware design and courseware opration and the causes of these misconceptions. The fourth chapter introduces the Chinese multimedia courseware design, production and application principle, then introduces the strategies of middle school Chinese multimedia teaching, and specifically elaborated multimedia teaching strategies of the middle school composition, oral communication and comprehensive study and common style.
