As for the viewpoint of self-made play-teaching materials in kindergartens, this research sorted out the ideas which related to self-made play-teaching materials in China’s relevant laws and regulations, documents of preschool education, and examined kindergarten teachers’ concepts and practices of self-made play-teaching materials. On the basis of these aspects, the researcher analyzed the relationship between the kindergarten teachers’ concepts, the ideas of self-made play-teaching materials and teachers’ practices, then deeply analyzed the existing problems related countermeasures are put forward.This study adopted literature method to analyze the relevant ideas of self-made play-teaching materials in China’s relevant laws and regulations, documents of preschool education. The study found that the ideas of self-made play-teaching materials had been divided into four stages, they were budding stage, developing stage, stagnating stage and all-round developing stage. Through the analysis of these stages, the researcher found that making play-teaching materials by self was not only in order to save costs, but also to promote the development of kids; self-made play-teaching materials could be used in many fields; children should be encouraged to make toys by themselves and learn through actually practice; making play-teaching materials by oneself should be one of the teachers’ professional abilities.In order to know teachers viewpoints of self-made play-teaching materials and their practices, the researcher interviewed some preschool teachers. The study found that, firstly, teachers knew the necessity of making play-teaching materials, and they do consider many factors when making them. But many teachers tended to make by themselves, ignoring children’s participation. Secondly, teachers thought that the selection activities of self-made play-teaching materials could not only broaden horizons, but also brought some burden. Thirdly, some teachers who were taking part in the research of self-driven games pay more attention to multi-agent’s participation, and they found children’s real needs on the basis of observation. They also encouraged children to innovate by providing some materials. Finally, the teachers aimed at certain education purposes through making play-teaching materials, they highlighted its function of learning, rather than its function of playing.On the basis of these analysis, the researcher put forward some suggestions from the departments, the managers of kindergarten and the teachers three aspects. And the research indicated that the selection activities of self-made play-teaching materials should attache more importance to "display" rather than "comparison".
