Boarding school in rural areas is based on the characteristics of the rural population living scattered, to solve the difficulties of the local rural students to go to school far, guarantee rural school-age children and adolescents to complete the compulsory education and establish a pattern of running. Referring to the rural boarding middle schools in this study is rural area compulsory education public junior high school which has the basic conditions for room and board, provides students with basic services, and includes full boarding school and the mixture of day school and boarding school. This study defines extracurricular education as the course plan and discipline curriculum standard after school time, to give students a variety of purposeful, planned and organized education activities. The author thinks that the student’s extracurricular education is an important part of school education, comprehensively improve the quality of school education, expand the function of school education, enrich boarding school life, arouse the students’ main body participation, improve the students’ ability to adapt, which is a series of training students’ comprehensive ability of extracurricular guidance, planning and construction of education activities.Student’s extracurricular activities have an important significant in the all-round development of morality in intelligence and physique of students relationship. Junior middle school life in particular, is the critical period of life. If there is no health benefits the extracurricular activities of guidance, it is bounded to its opposite. The all-round development of morality in intelligence and physique is the party’s education policy, developing healthy positive talent, which is the purpose of education. The present situation is worrying, however, now most of the boarding school did not make full use of their spare time and activity facilities, teaching in class, and regardless of extracurricular activities, so these activities become a common phenomenon of gravity.Taking L county of Shandong province as an example, we investigate teachers and students extracurricular education and activities planning in organization, knowledge, the carryout of the investigation, and so on. The result shows that there are a lot of problems in extracurricular education. Such as lack of overall planning for extracurricular education construction; rural school boarding middle schools lack with objective conditions; the existing extracurricular education content monotonous; rural boarding middle school teachers’ quality and education requirements are inconsistent, and so on. Through analysis above problems, the possible reasons are one-sided pursuit of the students’ school graduation rates, the uneven development of urban and rural education, the teacher workload big and ignore the extracurricular education. To solve these problems, put forward the following strategies, which are after-school education overall planning and guidance, to strengthen the construction of boarding school organization management system, to promote the students’ socialization, affection attaches great importance to the school-based curriculum content into daily life, development and integration of writers from a variety of resources, integrated design extracurricular education content, strengthen the construction of life teachers.
