The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Extracurricular Life Of Students In Rural Boarding Schools

Boarding school denotes that the students not only study in campus, but also spend their after-school time in their campus. That attributes to the lack of family education and the prolong of school education for those boarding students. Extracurricular activities have been being regarded as an effective method for promoting individual to fulfill their full development. In2007, the Boarding-School Project was completed in western rural community of China. My study depends on school life and extracurricular activities of students in boarding schools, so the attention for present situation of extracurricular activities in boarding schools of Compulsory Education Stage in Minle county of Gansu province is the beginning of my study. My study still research further, including the present situation and the problems of these extracurricular activities in those boarding schools, the reasons contributing to the problems. After an investigation to the area and taking some analysis, the author answered the questions, and tried to conceive a model for better effectiveness of the extracurricular activities in those boarding schools. At last, the author gave some advice to better the external conditions of the extracurricular activities. The thesis mainly contains four parts as following:Part one:Introduction. The background of the thesis, the aims and signification of the research, the theoretical bases, literature review, the objects, content and the methods being used, defining the relevant concept were all displayed elaborately in this part.Part two:The present situation of extracurricular activities of students in rural boarding schools. This Part mainly showed the findings of the investigation on the extracurricular activities being enforced in those boarding schools, including the development of compulsory education in Minle country, basic conditions of sample schools and the situation of extracurricular activities of students in boarding schools (including the time plan of students school life, plan content, organizing, the stage and the facilities of extracurricular activities, the cognition and attitude of teachers and students to extracurricular activities, the expectation of boarding students to their extracurricular activities and the evaluation of boarding activities).Part three:The existing problems of extracurricular activities of students in rural boarding schools and the reasons. Based on the present situation of extracurricular activities, the author analyzed the existing problems of extracurricular activities, including: making exercises is leading task of extracurricular activities after-school time, the content of extracurricular activities is monotonous obviously, the extracurricular activities is the lack of organization, the stage and the facilities, qualitative evaluation. The reasons of the existing problems of extracurricular activities in boarding schools included mainly:the education notion, the system, the teachers, the students and financial force.Part four:Providing countermeasures and recommendations for effective extracurricular activities for students in rural boarding schools. The author put forward effective countermeasures and recommendations from the education notion, the system, the teachers, the evaluative system, financial guarantee on the base of the existing problems of extracurricular activities in rural boarding schools.
