Having worked in a rural boarding school at Jianli County for nearly tenyears, I found there was too much time spent on study, and little time spent onextracurricular activities. Many students even do not participate in any meaningfulextracurricular activities. Because of dull school life, some students are not fond ofstudy. what’s worse, some students drop out of school. Thus, I have the thought ofstudying the living conditions of rural junior middle school students in boardingschools, and the school life in Jianli County of Hubei province where I have worked.I set three rural junior middle school boarding school students as the main point forthis research. The paper consists of the following parts:Part One:Introduction. The background of the thesis, literature review, definingthe relevant concept, the objects, content and the methods being used, theoreticalbases, the aims and signification of the research were all displayed elaborately in thispart.Par Two:The present situation of extracurricular life of students in rural juniorsboarding school.Through the student questionnaire and teacher interview, I get toknow students’time distribution, emotional status, knowledge and attitude ofextracurricular activities, motivation, willingness to concerns, satisfaction,expectations and preferences, as well as their experience of the school activityorganization, the plan, the content and frequency of the site, and equipment, thesummary and evaluation. SPSS17.0is used to get the data for statisticalanalysis.Part Three: The problems existed in their extracurricular activities in rural juniormiddle school boarding school students. Through the analysis of the current situation, I found the following problems are as follows: there is lack of time to take part instudents’ extracurricular activities, the form of activities is single, the content is notrich or healthy, there are few activities, students are not satisfied in after school life,there are short of activity venues, facilities can not be fully utilized, the activities arenot organized well which is lack of planning and guidance of confusion, unclearunderstanding of extracurricular activities, when students organize and participate inextracurricular activities their motivation is not positive, extracurricular activities arelack of evaluation and feedback mechanism,etc.Part Four: Analysis. From the five aspects of education concept, educationauthorities, schools, parents, students to analyze the causes of rural junior middleschool boarding school life. There are many problems.Part Five: Put forward the corresponding counter measures and suggestions. Theauthor contrapose the geographical characteristics and the needs of students, and putforward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions from changing the cognitiveconcept, the government, schools and families four aspects.
