China is an ancient country with thousands of years of civilization and has its own unique culture. Classical Chinese poetry, as documents of China’s thousands years of literature development, inherits the traditional culture. There has not been an effective way of teaching and learning classical poetry in high schools, while the successful teaching of it could arouse students’ interests in Chinese as well as develop students’ sense of national pride. Therefore it is necessary to study high school classical poetry teaching.This thesis is divided into four chapters discussing the effective teaching strategies for high school classical poetry. Modeled on the new curriculum and PEP materials and based on classroom teaching and learning, the research aims to find the effective teaching strategies for high school classical poetry by studying the advantages and disadvantages of prior teaching strategies. This thesis, on the one hand, investigated implementation of the New Curriculum Standards in high school classical poetry teaching; On the other hand, it tried to find solutions to the problems arising from the teaching process. It is hoped that it could provide valuable reference to the study of effective teaching strategies for high school classical poetry. |
