Moral education in junior high school mainly depends on ethics classes. It notonly helps students develop their morality, but also give them guidance about how tobe a man of integrity and their life attitude. Shanghai High School Ethics ClassStandard (Proposal) suggests that the objective of the class should be based on thest’udents studies, and the classes should be conducted to solve problems that theyhave met in life. Therefore, teachers are supposed to capitalize on ethics class toimprove students ability to solve problems. This paper discusses the importance ofcase studies in ethics lessons and how to conduct case studies atfer analyzing thepsychological and cognitive conditions of junior high school students.This paper is divided into three parts:Parti shows the importance of case studies in ethics teaching of junior highschool students and the strength of case teaching;Part2introduces the way to choose cases;Part3talks about how to apply the case into teaching, including the presentation of acase,the questioning about the case and discussion and analysis about it.
