In the education teaching of long development, the teacher is the dominant of teaching. In recent years, with the advancement of elementary education reform in our country, the teacher’s professional development is more and more important. And now the researches of teachers’ professional development are a lot, but the attention of demand for teacher professional development is not high, especially the study of demand for sports teachers’ professional development are very few. Teachers’ professional development is accompanied by the whole of teaching career. The different teachers will produce different levels, different types of professional development needs in the process. They are an urgent problem to solve how to follow the education teaching situation, to innovate the mode of professional development, to establish and adapt to the reform of basic education teachers’ professional development system, to lead teachers to continue to develop.From the perspective of teachers’ subject, this article thinks the teachers’ professional development needs is the breakthrough point. The writer used the questionnaire, the interviews, the observation to explore middle school PE teachers professional development needs. And the writer summarizes the influencing factors of teachers’ professional development. The following conclusions:(1)PE teachers’ professional development is the development of multiple perspectives, it includes the teachers’ professional philosophy and ethics, knowledge and ability;(2)The whole of PE teachers have higher development needs on the ability of promoting the middle school students in cooperation and mutual assistance, the method of stimulating the motivation of students learning, the method of sports teaching, the ability of adjusting students’ psychology.(3)The PE teachers of different age stages are not the same in the development need of professional knowledge and professional ability.(4)The impact factors on PE teachers’ professional development are various, the main influence factors is the school learning environment, training and reward.In this paper, the writer is based on the existing theory of education through the analysis of the PE teachers’ professional development needs.And put forward the strategies of the suitable for teachers’ professional development needs. Which have an important guiding significance on improvements on all kinds of training strategies. And which also provide theoretical basis and action reference for the department in charge of education and school.
