Since the mid-20th century, with the advancement of knowledge and technology, traditional teaching approach that emphasizes memorization of teaching content by reciting can no longer meet requirements of the times. Thus, some ’innovative ideas’ about school education have turned up, among which cultivating students’ creative thinking ability has become a hot issue. The national launch of the ’new high school curriculum standards’ clearly puts forward to promote innovative education to develop students’ innovative spirit and practical ability. History is a traditional subject, involving all aspects of social life, all-inclusive discipline, with its own specificity and inclusiveness. So to cultivate students ’creative thinking in the teaching of history, the teacher can make use of some features of this discipline, taking a variety of strategies to develop students’ creative thinking ability. Then, they will be the creative talents who our country needs. This article mainly describes four parts:The first part is about an overview of creative thinking. Firstly, creative thinking process is described by expounding the structure of the creative thinking; Secondly, the introduction of creative thinking features further illustrates the relationships between the individual thinking in the generation process of creative thinking; Finally, integrating the produce process of the creative thinking and the relationships between the internal mental states that creative thinking is the thinking law of system integration;The second section elaborates the posibility and necessity of training students creative thinking. Possibility is demonstrated mainly from the characteristics of middle school students’ bodies and mind development and the superiority of historical discipline in the process about training students’ creative thinking; Necessity is analyzed mainly from the requirements of the new history curriculum standard and the overall status of the current history teaching.The third part discusses how to develop students’ creative thinking in the middle school history teaching, including two contents:First of all, cultivateing the students’ creative thinking indirectly starts from the cultivating thinking elements required for the process in the process of creative thinking; Second, using the concrete teaching practices cultivates students’ creative thinking with combining with the characteristics of middle school history teaching materials and students’ own thinking;The fourth part presents the requirements for teachers and students during the process of developing students’ creative thinking in middle school history teaching. Through a combination of creative thinking and the intrinsic relationship between these requirements, the necessity of the requirements for teachers and students are analyzed in detail and how to implement these requirements with specific strategies;Finally, based on my teaching practice and the whole teaching history background, I make a few personal summary of difficulties in the current high school history teaching about cultivating students creative thinking.
