Several decades of traditional exam-oriented education have a deep-rooted in fluence on our teachers and students, only emphasis on the teachers’leading role, the teacher used to impart knowledge to students, rather than guide student.A sense of this idea thaf"teaching is not to teach,""teaching obedience in lea rning," is not fully reflected. the teacher never consider the students’needs, de mands, interests, experience and other aspects from the perspective of students’ overall development, just cultivate a large number of inflexible students. As par t of the geography teachers’style of teaching is boring and the teacher lectures w ere bland and lack vividness, which were widespread in middle school. Especiall y ignore the psychological characteristics of students, that result many students m otivation and interest in learning geography, is not concentrated, even result in t reating exam fear and some psychological disorders. Eventually form a status quo th af"poor teaching effectiveness, teachers tired, students are more bitter".To meet the requirements of the new curriculum reform, follow the humanis tic philosophy of education, based on the Maslow’s theory, cognitive learning th eory, constructivist learning theory, and geography teaching theory, We use res earch, comprehensive analysis method to discusses the basic ways of improving t he development of education reform, the method of organization of the classroom, and means of teaching, from the analysis of the psychological characteristics of middle school students perspective, which based on the practice case of HuTuBi middle school, Ultimately, strengthen the relevance of education and teaching, improve the effectiveness of school geography practice, explore new paths of quality educ ation in middle school geography teaching process initiatives.In this paper, the, the characteristics are the following:1. the research comb ined with the characteristics of geography, complete the psychological research o n student learning, have theoretical foundation, empirical research and research v alue.2.the paper proposed teaching and learning strategies, with some practical si gnificance, based on understanding of the psychological characteristics of student s.Through the study of the subject, we can gain form this paper in the follo wing areas:1. there are similarities on the individual and differences on groups in stude nts psychological characteristics of geography learning, which requires teachers carefully observe, analyze and summarized, find out the psychological character istics of students learning geography, and comprehensively improve the overall q uality of students.2. There has a vital role between students of non-intellectual and psychologic al characteristics, such as motivation, learning interest. teachers can take advantag e of non-intellectual and psychological characteristics, mobilize the enthusiasm of students’ learning.3. Teachers can strengthen students’ intellectual thinking purposefully and str ategically, through analysis of the psychological characteristics of students’ intelli gence, thereby improving student learning efficiency.4..Teachers, school and family environment has an important role on the for mation of the psychological characteristics of students, especially in the home e nvironment, so parents must ensure to provide students with a healthy learning a nd living environment. The influence of teachers on students is also crucial, teac her not only improve their professional quality and enrich their cultural knowled ge, but also improve their training.
