E-learning system plays an important role in teaching aids in the field of modern teaching. Besides providing rich flexible teaching content and normalized teaching process management, there’s one more important part in E-learning system. That is to collect, record and analysis the data of students’study process and effects to help teachers to give objective complete student evaluations to provide effective reference for further teaching arrangements. Besides helping teacher assess students objectively, E-learning system provides data for students to make a self-evaluation and build learning-path. This paper implements the student evaluation of the E-learning system from the point of view of both teachers and students.On the issues of students’evaluation for teachers, we propose a multi-dimension student evaluation method. First, the paper defines a basic student evaluation index system template with indicators accessing and correction method. After data accessed and corrected, this paper addresses the detail steps of the multi-dimension student evaluation method based on PROMETHEE and AHP. Finally, teachers are able to gain different results based on different teaching plan and students’characteristics. Thus to provide data support for arranging customized teaching content.On the issues of students’evaluation for student, we propose a simple multi-dimension student evaluation method and learning portfolios constructed method. Students’self-evaluation is a test for students’learning interests, learning ability, and achievements of students in a learning cycle. We extract teachers’preference hierarchically to realize customized student self-evaluation. In the process of student using E-learning system, the system records the students’course selection and learning history, to build learning portfolios and help students to do self-evaluate in the time dimension.As the usage of student evaluation, this paper also proposed some courses recommendation methods based on multi-dimensional student evaluation and students’ portfolios. It recommends appropriate courses to help students improve their knowledge structure, to build a complete system of knowledge in different and students evaluation results.Finally, the paper illustrates the effectiveness of multi-dimension student evaluation methods with a numerical example, and describes simple multidimensional student evaluation and learning portfolios steps, and describes several course recommendations based the methods above at last.
