New curriculum reform has become popular all over the country. Teaching methods and teaching model in our country presents the state of contention of a hundred schools of thought during new curriculum reform. Some regions are actively implementing new teaching methods, as well as some areas are still mainly traditional teaching. Nowadays the traditional teaching cannot adapt to the needs of the new curriculum reform, let alone meet the requirements of the new century. Therefore,under the background of new curriculum reform, the teaching method is imperative for reforming. Through reviewing the literatures and researching the reform of teaching methods, the author found that, from the theoretical perspectives,some new teaching methods based on students-orientation can really stimulate the students’initiative in learning, and enhance students’ practical ability and innovative thinking, which is in accord with the requirement of new curriculum reform. However, these teaching methods didn’t work so well in practice because of the less consideration of the related disciplines’ characteristics and the current teaching situation in some areas.After referring to the related materials, the author visited some middle schools, analyzed and summarized the research of teaching method at home and abroad. Based on that and the related theories, the author began the investigation and interview with the seven-grade students from Guangming New District Experimental School in Shenzhen. Meanwhile, this study proposed the "seven procedures" teaching method in the biology teaching based on the teaching methods such as the "five-step approach" first post-teaching "method,"loop big classroom "teaching method, the characteristics of junior high school biology and the current situation in teaching. The "seven procedures" teaching method is defined as a kind of stereoscopic, all-round teaching method. According to the four teaching types in biology, the author designed three steps and seven procedures. The "four teaching types" refers to the new lesson, the experiment, review class, test and evaluation class."Three steps" refers to preview, curricular inquiry, knowledge consolidation."Seven procedures" includes identifying the learning objectives and leading in the new lesson-presenting and interpreting the knowledge,guiding the students and giving them the learning tasks-autonomic learning-cooperative inquiry-expressing and communicating-explanation, summary and reflection-testing, feedback, evaluation and give the task to consolidate". The author designed the relevant teaching cases according to these four teaching types. Then choose two parallel classes as experimental class and control class receptively. In control class, implement the existing teaching methods. In experimental class, seven procedures teaching method. Finally, check whether the three-seven-four teaching method can facilitate the development of biology teaching under the background of new curriculum reform by testing two classes students’ academic performance,learning interest, learning ability, learning attitude. Results show that the "seven procedures" teaching method has the positive effect to the junior middle schools’ biology teaching.
