Curriculum is indispensable part in any stage of learning, is effective way to ensure the knowledge systematically and sequentially, is the concentrated power to improve the quality of education. In postgraduate level, it’s no longer valuable to discuss whether need to plan curriculum for postgraduates. But it’s valuable to ponder over the question which is the rationality and effectiveness of the postgraduate curriculum provision. Pedagogy, as a science, emerged in China in20century, so it’s a young science which needs to build up itself gradually. Facing to such a young science of postgraduate curriculum provision, we must stand on the shoulder of the world top college of education to explore the origin, development and growth of their postgraduate curriculum provision, which to nourish postgraduate curriculum provision of the college of education in our country.The first part, introduction, briefly describes origin reasons for selecting the topic, literature review, research significance and research methods.The second part, define and discriminate the concepts in my paper:curriculum, curriculum provision, postgraduate curriculum, master postgraduate of pedagogy. The core concept is curriculum provision:under the specific educational objectives, various classes school relationally plan and effectively organize the contents, class hours, course of the relative sciences.The third part, systematically card the history of postgraduate curriculum provision of college of education in American. Combining historical developed grade and science growth period, I depart the history into four periods and research the characteristics of each period that is the way of exploring and tracing the history of postgraduate curriculum provision of college of education in American.The fourth part, selecting three colleges of education from American universities as case study of my paper:Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Oregon. Then comparing and analyzing postgraduate curriculum provision of those three universities by the content of the curriculum, the curriculum structure and class hours arrangements. Sum up the contemporary characteristics of postgraduate curriculum provision of college of education as follows:interdisciplinary to build basic theory, rich academic electives to broaden academic horizons, research methods to enhance research capacity, research approach knock life of pedagogy.The last part, enlighten postgraduate curriculum provision of college of education in our country. Different cultural environment, education background, values may restrict on the growth and derivation of objects, and the choices and judgments of human, Therefore, we transplant the mature seeds, postgraduate curriculum provision of pedagogy, into education territory of China, whether we gain process or receive success in postgraduate curriculum provision of pedagogy is still unknown. But we obtain the most nutritious and value energy of American postgraduate curriculum provision of pedagogy; it must nourish and enrich our country’s postgraduate curriculum provision of pedagogy. Then, I conclude some recommendation for our country’s postgraduate curriculum provision of pedagogy:increasing the communication of multidisciplinary, breeding the growth interdisciplinary; adjusting the structure of the curriculum, increasing the proportion of elective courses; paying attention on the value of methodology courses, enhancing the charm of science education; breaking down barriers of international research, seeking the trends of research approach.Advice from others may help one overcome one’s shortcomings. By researching the American postgraduate curriculum provision of pedagogy in multiple dimensions and excavating essence, significance and value of curriculum provision, I conclude some recommendation for our country’s postgraduate curriculum provision of college of education.
