In 2014,the Ministry of Education of China announced a document to suggest the imp lementing the p lan of excellent teacher education.It points out that elementary teacher education must focus on the actual demands of elementary education,and China should start to explore the new education model of all-subject elementary teachers,so that we can cultivate a group of excellent elementary teachers who can teach several subjects in elementary schools.Educating all-subject elementary teacher is not only the developing trend of teacher education in China,but also a popular teacher education model internationally.Firstly,though literature research,this essay demonstrates the background and basis of the study.And with further study,the essay presents the developing history of all-subject teacher education in China and in America separately,and then it analyzes the current situation and features of the curriculum.In the next part,the essay chooses the MSU and H Univers ity as the studying cases,and concretely analyzes the education target,curriculum structure and curriculum content of all-subject teacher education major in the universities,and then it finds out that they are quite different.According to the results of comparison,China should develop the curriculum of all-subject elementary teacher education.It should set education target more concretely,and design the curriculum target in a more specific point of view.And it should simp lify the compulsory courses and improve the selectivity of elective courses.For the different types of the curriculum,general-liberal education courses should focus on the development of the internationalization and socialization of students,professional education courses should reflect new educational ideas,professional subject courses should be more integrated,and practical courses must offer the opportunity to experience teaching all subjects.This essay chooses the curriculum of all-subject elementary teacher education as the topic,and it focuses on the micro-level of the correlational research,it compares the differences between China and America,according which the essay refers to the experience of America,and raises some practical suggestions to China.
