Issued by the National Ministry of Education, the curriculum standard of normal high school chemistry course (experimental) points out that in terms of the development and use of curriculum resources,"the construction of chemical laboratories should be enhanced; and the utilization of informationalized curriculum resources should be emphasized." With the popularity of computer technology and network applications, there is an irresistible trend that informationalized education is gaining more and more attention from the majority of educators.By making use of the powerful functions of the computer, the virtual simulation chemical experiments present the experimental scene on the computer screen. This makes the experimenter feel as if he is visiting the laboratory in person, perceiving the experiment from visual and auditory senses. Thus, the two-way communication between the machines and people is realized and the distant interactive learning between people is achieved. What’s more, the multi-directional exchanges among teachers, students and other individuals are also promoted. After a careful study of the various versions of chemistry software, the author chooses and develops the high school chemistry simulation software system which is based on LabVIEW. As an auxiliary and continuation of the traditional experimental teaching, this software system is in consistent with the concept of informationalized education and paves a new way for the development of experimental teaching.The main content of this thesis is the design and application of the chemistry simulation software. The body of this paper includes five parts. They are shown in details as follows:Chapter One is the introduction. The author analyzes the problems existing in high school chemistry experimental teaching and presents the significance of developing high school chemistry simulation software based on LabVIEW in the background of the new curriculum reform. Through the comparison between the chemistry software’ development and application in an abroad, the characteristics of the current software are also analyzed.Chapter Two is about the high school chemistry simulation software system which is based on LabVIEW. The meanings of virtual simulation and multimedia are defined; the concept, framework, advantages and disadvantages of the simulation experimental system are discussed; and the simulation experimental system is explained particularly through a specified case. Then, the software content of the simulation experimental system is determined by means of comparing three different versions of the experimental materials.Chapter Three elaborates the educational theories and technological foundations of chemistry simulation software design and makes an analysis of the theoretical and technical basis of chemical simulation software design.Chapter Four displays a case study of the high school chemistry simulation software. The author uses four specific cases to describe the chemistry simulation software in details, such as the principles of interface design, the drawing and programming of experimental instruments, the action programming of experimental operation, the design principles of information warning of HCI module, the results of the software tests, etc.Chapter Five is the application of chemistry simulation experimental software to assist chemistry experimental teaching, which points out the scope and methods of using chemistry simulation experimental software, including students’ autonomous preview before the class, students’ and teachers’ joint use in the class, students’ self-study and review after class, and teachers’ and students’ free interaction and use on the internet after school.Last but not least, the author hopes that the newly developed chemistry simulation experimental software can offer some help for the front-line teachers to achieve better teaching effects as well as promote students’ learning.
