Based on the educational environment in school and personal teaching practice for the lastten more years, this research has done an experimental study on the cohesion aspect ofmathematics teaching of the grade seven students in the junior middle school in Lefeng County. Itis hoped to find out the problems in it and to explore their causes, then to give strategic solutionsin order to improve the mathematics education quality in the poor rural areas.Through methods of literature analyzing, investigating, interviewing, testing, and experimenting, this research looked for the existing problems among the studentswho have newly entered in the middle schools. Then according to the research resultof the adaptability to mathematics teaching of the grade seven students, this authorexplored teaching strategies to help these grade seven students to be adapted to themathematics teaching as soon as possible as well as to examine their validity inteaching practice, using certain related theories which contribute to their adaptability:the latest developed area theory, the meta-cognitive theory, the self-efficacy theory, the humanism education theory, the ecological system theory, etc.It was showed that there were two crucial elements which pushed the gradeseven students to adapt to the mathematics studies more quickly. One was the friendlyrelationship between teachers and students; the other was good family education. Allin all, school instruction was crucial for the cultivation of students’ learning habits, family education as well. Thus teachers should pay attention to the Four Foundationsfor mathematics teaching and enhance their quality in mathematics teachingpractice. The adaptability to the mathematics learning of the junior middle school studentsis a long-term topic worth further research. The knowledge cohesion between theprimary school and the junior midddle school should be taken into seriousconsideration. Thus it is necessary for the primary school teachers and the juniormiddle school teachers to work cooperatively so as to reorganize the existing teachingmaterials and to have a scientific master of students recognition ability. The juniormiddle school teachers should creatively combine their teaching practice with thesebasic theories in the modern pedagogics, psychology, teaching theory, etc.
