At present,there is a phenomenon that mathematics teaching in primary and junior middle school is disjointed,so that some students feel unaccustomed to mathematics learning after entering junior middle school.In an effort to enable students to adapt to junior middle school teaching and learning,it's of great necessity to study adaptability to math learning of students in Grade Seven.This research mainly applies the qualitative research methodology,supplemented by quantitative research methodology,including literature review,survey investigation and case study.Through the investigation on the adaptability of seventh-grade students in the International School of Dongzhou,the results are as follows: the majority of students of International School of Dongzhou have a solid foundation in mathematics,and their mathematics learning ability is relatively outstanding,but there are still many students who have poor mathematics foundation and lack adequate learning ability;the majority of students can finish the exercises but lack the positive spirit of making progress;mathematics learning motives are mostly to get good grades and to meet the wishes of parents and teachers;students lack perseverance in mathematics learning,and the students who really love mathematics are in the minority;most students can actively listen to the lessons,but they do not want to learn and communicate;some parents don't attach importance to their children's education,and the family education environment is not wholly satisfactory.Based on the above results,this research selected 6 individual cases for intervention experiments through teaching experiment and analysis of mathematics learning adaptability of seventh-grade students and the psychological intervention method,etc.Certain effects have been achieved: students' mathematics learning ability has improved to some extent,interaction between teachers and students and among students has increased,the problem that students are not active to preview before class has been resolved.However,due to the present teaching circumstances and the inadequate teaching ability,some problems still remain to be resolved in an effective way,including lack of learning persistence in mathematics among students and inadequate learning motives.
