A Study On The Adjustment Of The Specialty Structure Of Yunnan Normal University

The specialty is the implementation of the three functions which are personneltraining, scientific research and social service. Professional education is the essenceof higher education. The reasonable adjustment of the professional structure is animportant way to improve the quality of personnel training, enhance the professionalconstruction level and embody the orientation and characteristics of running aschool.In recent years, the demand for teachers of basic education has beentransformed from quantity expansion to quality improvement. With the industrialstructure transformed in Yunnan Province and a series of changes like the fact thatChina open an important bridgehead strategy to southwest, it puts forward newrequirements for the development of Yunnan Normal University. The Yunnan NormalUniversity is located in the southwest frontier of China. Besides, its specialgeographical position, politics, economy, culture and educational development of theYunnan Normal University allows itself have the characteristics and advantages in thelevel of the development, speed, training mode and the professional structure. And theadjustment of professional structure has its own particularity and complexity.Analyzing the major of Yunnan Normal University and finding the problem ofprofessional structure and the effective strategy to adjust makes Yunnan NormalUniversity, a local normal college, to cultivate the talents to meet the need of localmarket, thereby increase the ability of the service of local economic development.This paper adopted the literature study, interview, statistical analysis and othermethods. With the help of analyzing the employment data in Yunnan NormalUniversity from2007to2012,the article is divided into five parts. the first part is theintroduction which mainly expounds the reason of this topic, domestic andinternational literature review, research purpose and significance, research methodsand ideas; the second part combs and analyzes the definition and theoretical basisrelated to the concepts involved in this paper; the third part is the analysis of the environment of professional adjustment in Yunnan Normal University, mainly fromviews of the external environment and internal environment; the fourth part firstlysummarizes the settings of specialty in Yunnan Normal University, then makes anadaptive analysis of the employment structure of the graduates in different majors inYunnan Normal University and the employment structure in Yunnan province, whichis to understand the conditions of adapting to the market for the graduates in differentmajors in Yunnan Normal University, then analyze the employment rate of variousmajors. The writer puts forward the existing problems in the structure of specialty inYunnan Normal University based on the interview as follows:1, The growth of theamount of the majors is too fast, and the growth of non-teacher professional takes upa bigger proportion;2, the connotation construction for education, literature, science,history and law specialty is not enough;3, management, economics and art specialtyscale is not reasonable, and the quality of personnel training does not adapt to themarket demand;4, engineering professional construction level is not high.The fifthpart, based on the interview and in view of the existing problems of Yunnan NormalUniversity professional structure, makes the following suggestions:1, control thegrowth of the majors in the number of2, strengthen the connotation construction ofeducation, literature, science, history and the science of law, and concise specialty ofteacher education;3, With the employment oriented, adjust management, economicsand arts professional enrollment scale based on demand of local economicdevelopment and improve the quality of personnel training;4, strengthen theengineering professional construction. This paper tries to make Yunnan NormalUniversity as a teaching and research university which is characterized as teachingand an high level university in central and western regions. Because of the limit of thestudy ability, the writer only hopes that this study can contribute a little to the relatedresearch though the content of the research is not abundant enough, and the problemanalysis is not deep enough.
