With the continuous development of social information, MOOC arises at the historic moment. MOOC is an abbreviation for Massive Open Online Course. It is a new type of online courses. It breaks the traditional teaching model in which teachers teach knowledge in the classroom and students complete homework at home. MOOC has witnessed the fast development for its new knowledge propagation model and study way. Students complete prior knowledge at home and communicate with everyone in the classroom, this model can achieve better educational effect. In 2013, this MOOC tornado swept across China in rapid way, and was called the first year of MOOC in China. We pay more attention on MOOC in the field of higher education than the field of basic education, but we can see this trend has changed. More and more people focus on the application of MOOC in the field of basic education. In order to save against a rainy day, we should focus our attention on MOOC. It is the teachers who bear the brunt of stress which MOOC brings. The teachers’role will change. Therefore, teachers must make sufficient preparation for orientating their role in teaching and implementing the role of conversion in the situation.This whole thesis is divided into four parts. The first part mainly discusses about research background and significance on the topic "high school chemistry teacher role orientation and conversion research in the MOOC model". The second part mainly defines the concept of MOOC and introduces the theories of MOOC and application status. The third part summarizes the present situation of middle school chemistry teachers’ current role-playing, analyses the factors for affecting high school chemistry teacher’s realization, puts forward views for teachers how to meet the challenges of MOOC, requires teachers to be a forerunner of MOOC model, a partner in the development team, a leader of student learning, a researchers of teaching activities. The fourth part makes a discussion about the methods how to achieve high school chemistry teacher role transformation, such as renewing education concept, improve the information literacy, and change the way of work and etc. I hope this paper will cause the social people from all walks of life attention on the teachers’ role orientation and conversion. The teachers’ role orientation can help teachers to meet the challenges of MOOC, so as to promote lesson for application in the field of basic education in China.
