Teacher is the main body to implement courses. The goal of the new round of course innovation for basic education is not only stipulating new course standard and compiling new teaching materials. The more crucial point is how to persuade teachers to accept new course concept and comprehend the new courses, and then, put forward the new courses on classes and turn ideal courses into real courses. Hence, course innovation for basic education has a great deal with teachers. Teachers are the key to influence the success of course innovation.The new round of course innovation for basic education is a thorough reformation to previous course system and concept. Some new concepts in new courses are not familiar to and adopted by teachers in traditional education, which is a great challenge to teachers'teaching idea and pratice and impel teachers to make correspondent response in teaching. This kind of response can be shown in teachers're-orentation and comprehension of the role of teacher, idea conversion and continious profession development.This dissertation is divided into four parts:Part I: Foreword, inclusive of researches of the role of teacher in home and abroad and the content and meaning of this study.PartⅡ: March to new physical courses—New expectation to the role of teacher, inclusive of basic concept of new courses, definition and characteristics of the role of teacher, and new courses'influence to the role of teacher.PartⅢ: Walk into the new role—Conversion of the role of teacher, inclusive of conversion of teacher's role of being knowledge initiator, teacher being promoter of student, teacher being researcher, teacher being host of courses, and teacher being participator.PartⅣ: Walk to success—Pracical construction of the profession role of teacher. First, give brief analysis to factors influencing the conversion of the role of teacher, including external factors, teacher's self factor, and the more important part: teachers'idea and self-awareness. Hence, when external conditions are available, conversion of the role of teacher requires teachers'self-effort and teacher trainning.
