Today, the reform of basic education is fully under way and changing concepts of education, improving teaching methods are of uppermost priorities. This paper is to focus on the practical exploration of Senior One students’ autonomous learning in mechanics by the autonomous learning theory and teaching practice in mechanics of high school.This paper is based on the field of teaching high school mechanics, mainly using the investigation and analysis of literature, questionnaire survey method, data method,action research method and case study method.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part describes reason for the problem, foreign research situation of both autonomous learning and high school teaching of mechanics, and expounds the purpose and significance of the study and research technical route and methodThe second part describes the concept and characteristics of autonomous learning,expounds the necessity of independent learning in senior high school with the psychological characteristics of high school students. This chapter also has high mechanical knowledge system were collated and summarized, and illustrates the importance of mechanics learning with the present situation of College Entrance Examination of mechanical knowledge.The third part, investigates high school students of Physics Learning from six dimensions. By the questionnaire, it surveys result analysis, proposed the direction in the teaching practice, pays attention to stimulate students’ learning motivation such as strengthening; strengthening study penetration and learning method strategy use;guides students self- monitor; actively creates environment and autonomous learning atmosphere.The fourth part, with autonomous learning theory and the results of the questionnaire survey, puts forward relevant teaching strategies, such as stimulating students’ learning motivation; enhancing students’ awareness of autonomous learning;to guide the students’ autonomous learning methods, and proposed corresponding methods of case teaching in practice.The fifth part carries on the analysis to effectiveness in the teaching practice based on the theory of autonomous learning of the students in our school.At the endof the semester the students conducted a questionnaire survey, from which we can see that most students seemed to accept this teaching method. By the analysis of test scores of four semesters in Senior One, difference can be seen between the experimental class and the control class in terms of academic achievement.
